Who We Are

Heartland Healthy Heads is a full-service head lice removal and treatment facility, dedicated to providing safe and effective treatment options for head lice. In addition to treatment, Heartland Healthy Heads offers community education and awareness (#BeLiceFreeinKC).

Heartland Healthy Heads was founded by 2 sisters: Cherie Parker, a mother and nurse practitioner, and Susan Truluck, a mother and occupational Therapist.

We are the local resource regarding head lice in KC, providing the most up to date information related to head lice along with safe, effective and affordable treatment options. Developing partnerships with schools, afterschool programs, daycares, summer camps, churches and doctors offices is important us, as we strive to end the stigma and provide research based information and guidance for head lice.

Programs we offer:

Learn without Lice

We offer free screenings and discounted treatments to Teachers and School Nurses. Please contact us through our website or call 913-730-6487, if your school would like to be included in our program. Bring you badge to the appt and we can discount your treatment.

Group Screenings

Offers on site or in clinic screening for groups dealing with head lice outbreaks. Contact us if your are dealing with a head lice out break, we can help. This is a service that allows us to take the burden off your staff from conducting head lice screenings and answering questions from frustrated parents. Group rates apply either in clinic or at your location.

School District Nurse Referral Program

Partnering with school districts allows school nurses to refer students and families who are struggling with head to our clinic to have safe and effective treatments. Call to ask about current discounts for schools and download our referral form.
Educational Presentations: Through this program we offer free educational presentations and resource materials to groups and programs.

Physician Referral

If you are screened by your physician and are referred to our office we will waive the screening fee. Please download referral form.
